Ladies and gents get out your wax paper and get ready to have some fun!! I have to share what I have been up to the last couple of days using wax paper, embossing folders, inks and a travel iron. I hope you can follow the pics and the limited information provided and give this technique a try! See the previous post for an example used in a card. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me and I will be glad to discuss in more detail. Thanks for stopping by my nest! Take Care - Robin

Tutorial for using Gesso to create an Aged/Distressed Background
Not being an expert at this technique or explaining things in a tutorial...this is my attempt to share how I created the background for this tag. I took pictures as I went along to help show how this tag progressed from plain to pretty. Only I forgot to take a picture of the tag naked, but you all know what a plain manilla shipping tag looks like! Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions, just click on the contact button underneath my blog header and you will find my contact info. Also, in the post prior to this one there is an ATC I made for a monthly swap that uses the same technique for the background done on old sheet music. Thanks for stopping by my nest and I hope you will give this technique a try, it is addicting.
The step-by-step directions are in each picture so be sure to click on each one to bring up a larger version!
ATC for SDA Swap
This is an ATC that I did for a monthly swap with a group of gals from Stampin'D'Amour. This is part of a year of ATC's swap and it will be ending next month....so if you are interested in participating in a swap with an awesome group of talented gals, please be sure to check out the Stampin'D'Amour message board where you can find more information.

Theme Thursday - Borders
The challenge at Theme Thursday was to create something that had a border. I created this card with a smashed mason jar lid as a frame! I got the idea from a tutorial posted at Squidoo. The image is courtesy of Bel's Nook. You can find all the other beautiful artwork at Theme Thursday . Thanks for stopping by and come back again! Take Care - Robin

Pocket Packet Friday, Created by Hand & Go Make Something Challenges
On the forum Paper Digital Art and Images by Kim there is a fairly new Pocket Packet Friday Challenge. If you haven't checked out this forum, you really should as there are a lot of resources and great tutorials there. This weekend the challenge was to use the color Crimson in your creation. I have been having a lot of fun with Gesso lately (in case you haven't noticed) and so used both a Distressed Gesso Background Technique and a Gesso Transfer Technique on this card. Clicking on either of these will take you to the related tutorial. I am also combining challenges as the challenge over at Created by Hand was to use red or pink in your creation and the Go Make Something Challenge was also to use pink. All great resource sites that you should check out! Thanks for stopping by to take a look! Have a great week - Robin
