I don't blame you. I have had so many annymous comments left for vigra and what not. Good thing is they have been left in older posts and any post over 14 days I have set up for moderation. I'm glad there is this option for our blogs to moderate the comments.
It's always good to moderate comments. Some bloggers also received nasty comments that they might not want to publish.
A good friend of mine actually cried & wanted to stop blogging when she received some venomous comments about her spelling mistakes! I think there should be a "report to blogger" or "banned" buttons, just like on emails.
Anyway, it's always good to see your post. :D
I catch those spammers because I have it set up a special way...but what a pain...I have to check daily for them...they do sneak in and they are getting smarter and smarter about sort of disguising their spam!!! Ugh!
Too bad - don't these people have anything better to do with their time?

I used to moderate my comments, then one day decided to simply turn on "word verification" and turn off "moderation." For some reason, for well over a year I've had nothing but positive comments.
I am sorry to hear you have been hit by ugly spammers. Possibly it won't be too long and you can go back to the old way.

Robin... I think the same spammers were hitting me I just turned on word verification this week... UGH!

I feel your pain. I put on the comment moderator for comment over 2 days and all of a sudden I see that I'm getting weird comments on very old posts. This way I get an email notice of that days comments and can delete if necessary and if it's older than 2 days, I get notification for approval on my dashboard. So far it's worked well. - Kris
