Altered Jigsaw Puzzle Piece ATC

Well I have been playing with puzzle pieces again and this time I made one of the altered puzzle pieces into an ATC. I also wanted to provide a little more information on how I altered this puzzle piece and answer a couple of questions I got regarding what a Big Shot is. A Big Shot is a die cutting/embossing machine made by Sizzix. I have attached a link to it in the next paragraph.

To get the embossed look on my puzzle piece I first sponge painted it with Pearlescent Liquid Acrylics in a couple of coordinating colors and stamped it with a collage stamp from Inkadinkado using Versafine Archival Ink in Onyx Black. Next I ran it through my Big Shot machine using the D'vine Swirl Embossing Folder by Provo Craft. Once the image was embossed I took a nail file sanding block and sanded off the paint where the image was raised. I then took a Color Box Fluid Chalk Inkpad in Dark Brown and rubbed it over the raised areas. Heat set the ink and then I added a little bit of Copper Metallic Rub-ons from Craf-T-Products, Inc. Once I was happy with the colors I inked the entire piece with Versamark embossing ink and then used clear Ultra Thick UTEE embossing powder and heated until smooth. You could do more than one coat of UTEE if you like, however, I liked the dimensional look after just one coat so that is all I did on this piece. I mounted the puzzle piece on a background that was stamped with the same image and matched the images. I also added 2 butterfly sequins and applied some glitter glue on the wings. That was it in a nutshell! If you give this a try, please post a link to your work so the rest of us can go take a look at what you created. Have fun and thanks for stopping by my nest!
